Air France Considers Memphis

Air France is considering adding Memphis, Tennessee to their routes. The speculation came after Air France executives held their North American marketing and sales meeting in Memphis.

A new route could be in the works that would service Memphis to Paris nonstop.

“It’s their [Air France executives] first time here . . . we’re honored they decided to meet here,” said Larry Cox, president and chief executive of Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority.

The airport authority is hoping Air France loves what they see in Memphis, Cox said.

Northwest Airlines offers a trans-Atlantic flight out of Memphis already. It Air France opens up a new route, there will be two trans-Atlantic flights out of Memphis and competition could heat up.
