Oklahoma Air Travel Better Than 2005By Jason A. Martin on October 29th, 2006
According to the Oklahoman, there were fewer air passengers flying out of Oklahoma in September 2006 than August 2006. However, the numbers are still higher than the 2005 air travel numbers for the same months. September 2006 was a 1.76 percent increase over the same month in 2005. These numbers can be a little misleading for the normal traveler. Oklahoma is a hotspot for the nation’s military and its estimated that military travel is one of the primary causes for the increase. “I think that helped us, and we’re extremely excited about that,” said Will Rogers World Airport spokeswoman Karen Carney. More flights are expected over the Thanksgiving holiday, because many airlines have decreased the number of seats per flight, Carney said. Related Articles:Other Sections: Leave a Reply |
