Singapore Airlines Offers In-Flight Luxury SuitesBy Jason A. Martin on October 31st, 2006
Singapore Airlines has announced a new in-flight feature for those demanding an upscale experience while flying—Luxury Suites. The new feature is really a very wide seat that folds back and becomes a bed. While it’s big enough for two people, Singapore Airlines was quick to point out that it’s one per person. Before you run out to book your next flight on Singapore Airlines, you should be aware of the cost. According to the airline, luxury suites are $10,000 round trip. Bey Soo Khiang Singapore Airlines’ Senior Executive VP of Operations and Service said, “We firmly believe in bringing back the romance of travel.” So what does one get for $10,000 round trip? The new seats are encased in mahogany and have comforters and pillows that were designed by Givenchy of France. Each luxury suite also has a 23-inch LCD television. The new seats measure 35 inches across, which is 11-13 inches wider than a typical first-class seat. In December, the luxury suites will debut on flights from Singapore to Paris. In spring of 2007, they will appear on flights from Singapore to San Francisco, a representative of Singapore Airlines said. Related Articles:Other Sections: Leave a Reply |
