Tourism-Related Searches Tops For Israelis

According to study conducted by Google Israel, 80% of searches by Israelis are for tourism-related topics. It’s a trend that’s growing around the world.

The second most searched topic by Israelis is for electrical products.

The tourism search trend goes both ways. Many are utilizing the Internet to search about vacations to Israel, Google said.

Google also reported that the Internet tourism market has sales of about $116 billion in 2005 and that the trend is likely to increase.

Bookings to Asia jumped 49% and they are expected to double by the end of 2007.

A conference was held in Tel Aviv Tuesday to come up with ways to utilize the Internet for tourism promotion.
